God is Good - Kaylee Koenig

Hello Again! The last few days we have been staying in Matunda, Kenya.

On Saturday we were able to have a service at our church in Kitale, Kenya. At the end of the service, we were able to teach our lessons to the congregation and then were able to meet with everyone after the service. Afterwards, we had a group that met at the pastor's house for lunch and tea. We headed back to the hotel where we all were able to get some rest and then met up for our nightly scripture reading and prayer to end our night.

Sunday, we had a service at our church in Moi's Bridge, Kenya. We were able to also teach our lessons to the congregation and greeted everyone after the service. We then went to Choma Zone, which is a restaurant where they serve barbecued goat. On our way back to the hotel, we stopped at the Soy Club and were able to see the room where Queen Elizabeth stayed.

Today, Monday, we went back to our church in Moi's Bridge and taught our bible lessons at the school there. They had some performances for us when we got there that included reciting bible passages and poems, singing songs, bringing out a locally made guitar to sing more songs, doing some gymnastic tricks, and more. They then took a break to play and run around a bit before we taught our lessons. I joined in on a game of football, and was the leading player in goals. I don't think they were so sure about me joining in at first but once I started scoring, they all would cheer while I would run away with my hands up in the air. I made an attempt at being the goal keeper but thankfully that didn't last long. Sam was able to join in on a game of volleyball which they used a small rubber ball for. Sam learned his limits in volleyball when they said he is "not flexible enough". We then were able to go meet with some of the members of the church which included lunch, tea, and exploring an around 80 acre farm. We then headed back to the hotel. I was able to get in a quick swim before it started to rain. And we are now together for a small meal/snack and we will be doing our nightly scripture reading and prayer to end our night.

Tomorrow, we head to another school in the area and then we are on our way to Uganda on Wednesday.

Good is good, All the time
All the time, God is Good
And that is His nature.
